Dynamic time window-based optimization method for unified stream and batch processing in data warehouses

Abstract

Data warehouse is the core of enterprise data management, and batch processing and stream processing are the two core data processing paradigms for big data analytics. To address the high latency and resource consumption of traditional batch processing technologies, as well as the data quality challenges faced by stream processing technologies when handling multi-stream data association and historical data computation, this study proposes a unified stream and batch processing method. The proposed method analyzes the changes of the dataset in different time windows, and integrates the dynamic time window division based on scheduling time with the simplest dataset search based on the DFS(Depth-First Search) algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that, compared with the mainstream micro-batch processing method, this method reduces overall computation time by 57.2% and memory consumption by 24.2%, while ensuring strong data consistency. This method holds important reference value for enterprises in building data warehouses with high processing efficiency and low resource consumption, integrating stream and batch processing.
