Abstract

This study proposes a monocular 3D detection algorithm based on self-learning region selection and edge focusing. Unlike traditional methods that use the entire ROI for 3D attribute learning, the proposed algorithm leverages a data-driven model to self-learn and select valuable regions, mitigating the negative influence of irrelevant areas. Additionally, the algorithm enhances edge regions by modeling the distribution characteristics of truncated targets, improving the focus on high-frequency regions. Furthermore, a data augmentation method incorporating spatial consistency constraints is introduced, extending the 3D sample set by adding spatial constraints to the Cut-and-Paste method, thus ensuring consistency with imaging principles. Experimental results on the KITTI dataset demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms baseline models and state-of-the-art approaches, with a 29.8% improvement in accuracy for truncated targets compared to the baseline.
