Analysis of public opinion evolution based on online-offline supernetwork model

Abstract

Most of the current research on opinion evolution models and their dynamic rules in the field of public opinion has overlooked offline networks, leading to an inadequate reflection of the actual process of opinion dissemination. To solve the above problem, this paper employed an online-offline social network mapping method to obtain the topology structure of the online-offline social networks. Then, it constructed an online-offline supernetwork model, integrating the information of the opinion event situation to form an opinion evolution simulation environment. Finally, it formulated the dynamic interaction rules for the online-offline supernetwork model using principles of communication theory, enabled the simulation of opinion dynamics. This paper applied the proposed model to analyze specific event instances, and the cosine similarity between the simulation results and the actual development of opinion events reached 0.99, with an average difference of 1%. The experimental results show that the presented model achieves better simulation performance compared to other methods, validating the correctness and effectiveness of the online-offline supernetwork model and the opinion dynamical interaction rules.
