Charging efficiency based energy replenishment scheme for WRSN

Abstract

The node energy replenishment problem of WRSN is a hot topic in current sensor network research. Most of the existing studies assume that the energy consumption rate of the sensor is constant, so they are difficult to adapt to the actual scene which has dynamic energy consumption. Some other studies, although considered the dynamic nature of node charging request, fail to select the appropriate charging object, which limits the performance. To solve the problems, this paper first analyzed the charging problem of WRSN, and then proposed a charging efficiency based energy replenishment scheme(CEBER). CEBER firstly presented a quantitative calculation method of charging efficiency, and toke charging efficiency as an important decision factor in choosing charging objects. At the same time, CEBER also considered the longest charging waiting time that the nodes could tolerate to avoid node failure as much as possible. The simulation results show that CEBER can effectively reduce the node failure rate, improve the overall charging efficiency of the network, and provide more efficient charging service for WRSN.
