Research on geocasting algorithm based on bus trajectory and positioning information

Abstract

Most of the traditional geocasting algorithms are used in WSN, which does not consider the road network and vehicle trajectory information, and is not well suited for the needs of multicast in the Internet of Vehicles. Based on some current business needs, this paper introduced the trajectory information of buses, and proposed a geocasting algorithm based on the trajectory of buses. In the first stage, this paper established the trajectory tree of the bus node and the encounter mode and then calculated the message forwarding ability of the bus node to the target area based on the encounter graph, and selected a node with a higher message forwarding ability to forward the message to the destination area. In the second stage, this paper used the stability index to estimate the stability of the two vehicles and established a vehicle set on each street in the destination area, to achieve the purpose of group broadcasting by establishing and maintaining the vehicle set. The simulation on the experimental platform SUMO and OMNET++ shows that the algorithm can reduce the transmission overhead of the entire network and achieve the expected goal while maintaining a high packet delivery rate as the number of vehicles increases.
