Optimal computation offloading for vehicular cloud computing using Stackelberg game

Abstract

Vehicular cloud computing(VCC) was proposed to integrate idle vehicular resource for improving resource utilization efficiency and enhance the quality of vehicular services. This paper studied the computation offloading problem between a requesting vehicle and multiple assisting vehicles in VCC from an economic point of view. Firstly, this paper designed a secure communication protocol to promote the dynamic formation of a VCC. After that, the Stackelberg game approach formulated the incentive for assisting vehicles in computing task offloading. It designed a simple but efficient distributed iterative algorithm to achieve the Stackelberg equilibrium, which can minimize the service cost of the requesting vehicle and also maximize the benefit of the assisting vehicles. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes are efficient and reliable in VCC.
